Opéra - Clichy is probably the most culturally diverse of the Paris districts.
Paris Opera, Moulin Rouge, Montmartre, sacre coeur, Galeries Lafayette, Montmartre, Printemps, Abbesses
You decide - but having the Paris Opera House and Les Grands Magasins (Printemps and Galeries Lafayette) of boulevard Haussmann and the Moulin Rouge and Pigalle in the same neighbourhood seems natural in Paris and needs no apology. In between, the neighbourhood has everything wonderful about Paris – great local bakeries and patisseries, grocery and food stores of all sorts.
Speciality shops cram every side street and standout amongst them are those for antique musical instruments. The combined theatre, cinema and restaurant cluster on Place Clichy is second to none in the city.
At the end of the day there is no better strategic location to live in Paris for getting about on foot, with pedal power or by public transport. A walk, cycle or metro hop will have you enjoying the cobbled streets and cafés of Montmartre and Abbesses village or the luxury shops of Louvre, Palais Royal and Place Vendôme.

More “local” than the more touristy areas…
… we have stayed in, this location is great. Rue Des Martyrs is exceptional in terms of local shopping and, of course, Galeries Lafayette is also only five minutes away.
